Creative Workshops with Primary School Children in Short Stay Education
Chez worked across two short stay schools running creative workshops in varied mixed media art practices that focus on play, colour and fun. In the sessions Chez explored abstract art through learning different techniques and taking inspiration from contemporary artists. The sessions aimed to explore these artists and try to link back to the young people’s lives in some way to create lasting connections between them and the artist we are exploring.
The sessions helped participants learn about lots of artists, take ownership over their artwork and explore different techniques.
Some of the artists they have looked at include Chiaozza, Yayoi Kusama, Matisse, Calder and Miro. In the some of the images here, the children created their own Miro inspired sculptures (or dabbing super Mario’s! - Miro would be proud).
